Love is not Sentiment...

Posted:

Obviously love is not sentiment. To be sentimental, to be emotional, is not love, because sentimentality and emotion are mere sensations. A religious person who weeps about Jesus or Krishna, about his guru and somebody else is merely sentimental, emotional. He is indulging in sensation, which is a process of thought, and thought is not love. Thought is the result of sensation, so the person who is sentimental, who is emotional, cannot possibly know love. Again, aren’t we emotional and sentimental? Sentimentality, emotionalism, is merely a form of self-expansion. To be full of emotion is obviously not love, because a sentimental person can be cruel when his sentiments are not responded to, when his feelings have no outlet. An emotional person can be stirred to hatred, to war, to butchery. A man who is sentimental, full of tears for his religion, surely, has no love. - Krishnamurti, The First and Last Freedom, pp 232-233

Is forgiveness love? What is implied in forgiveness? You insult me and I resent it, remember it; then, either through compulsion or through repentance, I say, "I forgive you." First I retain and then I reject. Which means what? I am still the central figure; it is I who am forgiving somebody. As long as there is the attitude of forgiving it is I who am important, not the man who is supposed to have insulted me. So when I accumulate resentment and then deny that resentment, which you call forgiveness, it is not love. A man who loves obviously has no enmity and to all these things he is indifferent. Sympathy, forgiveness, the relationship of possessiveness, jealousy and fear all these things are not love. They are all of the mind, are they not? - Krishnamurti, The First and Last Freedom, p 233

Beyond the Consciousness of Fascism...

Freedom to Fascism is an Internet film by director Aaron Russo. Its title reveals its content as it relates to current affairs in this country.

It is a real eye-opener about some dire possibilities that exist as potential truths that could affect the freedoms and the way of life we have become so comfortable with in our society.

This film raises some important questions that directly relate to the power of the "states of
consciousness" we entertain individually and collectively. It is also a magnificent opportunity to learn to exercise the power of redemption -- that is, our ability to revise any images in our mind of the past, present or future, to conform to our ideals. Such a revision will affect a change in the world, and yes, that includes the past that we all love to believe is so permanent. This revision is not an idle rearrangement of language in the chattering mind. It is actually creating images in the mind and stepping into them and feeling the realness of the images with full sensory detail.

With this in mind, it is very useful to remember that the belief in a thing is more powerful than the thing itself. This is fundamental to the "law of attraction." It is the foundation of the reality we are each creating with our imaginal activities -- the images we are holding in our minds.

Food for Thought?

What are YOU feeding your mind? Let us talk about mental nutrition.
'You are what you eat' with the body. 'You become what you consume' with the mind.
It's pretty obvious that this is true for the body. But isn't it interesting that have not applied this rule to the mind? The mind wants to be fed compulsively 'More'. More information, more drama, more excitement, more violence, more knowledge, more sex, the absolute latest breaking news… as if it would make a difference in the world if we heard about it 2 hours later. This blind and ravenous consumption of media has made our minds heavy, dull and obese... fattening up on the idea that what is going on 'out there' is more important than what is right in front of you 'right now'.

The highly processed and cleverly crafted messages we consume are clogging up the digestive system of the mind, making it nearly impossible to extract what little nutrition is hidden there.  A high-fat diet of traumatic television, nasty newsprint and pathological periodicals contributes to the 'heart' disease of the mind, keeping us internally in conflict and judgment, leading to an emotional cardiac arrest and a heartless world. Mental nutrition high with the cholesterol of conflict, conspiracy and creative consumerism, hardens up the arteries of freethinking. Mind-foods full of behavioral preservatives subversively sell us everything from chocolate-chip cookies, to national propaganda, to what a human being is supposed to look like and behave like, thus cementing unasked-for belief systems to an unaware consumer. These are just a few of the external hazards of this kind of mental nutrition.

How Can I Help the World?

The World Does Not Need Your Help.
The fact of your existence is exactly enough.

Action and Abundance

"Your action has nothing to do with your abundance! Your abundance is a response to your vibration. Of course, your belief is part of your vibration. So if you believe that action is part of what brings your abundance, then you've got to unravel that". - Abraham
We all have been taught our entire lives, and our whole culture is wrapped up in the idea that, "you have to work hard for_____".   That, "________ has to be earned"  Put anything in the blank and you get the idea. There is also a pervasive feeling that we are not worthy and must pay with labor, suffering, money, time etc.

It is all ERROR!

This blog is only concerned with Truth & Error, which has nothing to do with Right or Wrong. The above Abraham quote is Truth and has proven itself in the testing. The only action or effort required is that which unravels the limiting mental ideas and matching your vibration with your defined success.

The simple fact that you exist, makes you worthy of anything and everything you deem worthy of  desiring. And don't forget it. Pay attention to your vibration and 'tune' it towards your lovely outcomes then celebrate your existence while you explore even brighter horizons!

Movie pics: Ground Hogs Day...

One of the GREAT spiritual movies of all time. I'm quite sure that most people missed that. I know that I missed it when I first saw it years ago . Full of cliche's and silly humor with an underlying revelation of refined soul searching. What is happening to me? Who am I? and who could I become? and how long can it take? Is it ego eradication or ego refinement? Perhaps a purification of the 'self' through the reflections of the endless mirrors around us. Going into each mirror completely.

Is it about waking up? Spiritually? What are Sonny and Cher trying to tell him every morning?  "I got you babe.."   Ever felt like that? "Here we go again!" as we hit the alarm?

Could it be showing us how the entire world is characters on your stage that you created. Existing only for you. Dancing with you the dance that you create. At first, of course, you don't realize that you are creating the dance. The over-grown ego fights against it, same day after same day trying to alter it but starting again the same everyday

Or is it a parody, a parallel of how we go through every possible situation in the play of life in order to attain that perfect image. You see the ego at first trying to manipulate situations satisfy it's petty desires, then out of sheer frustrated exhaustion, tries in endless ways and endless days, to kill himself trying to break the cycle.

The end of the movie, you get the sense that tens of thousands of repeated days have culminated to the perfect day that we get to witness as a result.

One of our favorites... Highly recommended! Watch it again with your new eyes open.

Intuition... Intelligence or Deception?

Tomorrow morning, 12-4-13, at 9am MST,  we will be discussing Intuition on Casual Conversations on Consciousness at REALationshipRADIO.com The following is copied from kinfonet.org and is worth reviewing before the show. You can join us by calling 917-889-2275 and press 1 if you would like to join the conversation! The Einstein quote is a nice addition!
Recently a poster stated that there was 'a set definition' for insight. He said that insight was instant. He said that insight was intuition and intuition was 'direct perception of Truth. I want first to make it clearer what K said about insight and intuition, so we get the terms of reference clear viz-a-viz the K teaching. Here is a passage from a talk given in 1952
'Question: What is the relationship between what the psychologists call intuition and what you call understanding?
Krishnamurti: Don't let us bother about what the psychologists say. What do you mean by intuition? We use that word, don't we? I have used the word understanding very often. Let us find out what it means.
What do we mean by intuition? Don't introduce what other people say. You use that word intuition. What is an intuitive feeling? Whether it is right or wrong, you have a feeling that it must be so or it must not be so. By intuitive feeling, we mean a feeling that is not rationalized, that is not very logically thought out, a feeling which you ascribe to beyond the mind, which you call a flash from higher consciousness. We are not seeing if there is intuition or not, but we want to find out the truth of it.

I Really Regret Going to Yoga Today...

Said No One... Ever!

Show Me the One... Show Me the Way

Today, we want to share with you a powerful tool that anyone can use and everyone has. It is a mantra of clarity and a great way to start each day. It's called "Show Me the One... Show Me the Way" and it is a command to your "higher" or "inner" self which knows where it/you are going. This is NOT a petition to some nebulous higher authority. Simply say to yourself,  "Show me the one that I need to meet today" or "Show me the one thing I must do today" to move me closer to my goals and dreams. And make it obvious so I do not have to look so hard and so I don't miss it". You can say this to your self all day long... Then you have to:
PAY ATTENTION!!!!
You will be thrilled at how quickly this can work and how much fun it can be. It will also sharpen up your intuitive skills which we will be talking about next Wednesday morning at 9am MST on Casual Conversations on Consciousness at REALationshipRadio.com. You can join us by calling in at  917-889-2275 and press 1 if you have a question.

A Remembered Truth is a Dead Thing...

Questioner: It is said that in each one of us truth is permanent and timeless; but' since our life is transitory, how can there be truth in us?
Krishnamurti: You see, we have made of truth something permanent. And is truth permanent? If it is, then it is within the field of time. To say that something is permanent implies that it is continuous; and what is continuous is not truth. That is the beauty of truth: it must be discovered from moment to moment, not remembered.
A remembered truth is a dead thing.
Truth must be discovered from moment to moment because it is living, it is never the same; and yet each time you discover it, it is the same.
What is important is not to make a theory of truth, not to say that truth is permanent in us and all the rest of it--- that is an invention of the old who are frightened both of death and of life. These marvelous theories--- that truth is permanent , that you need not be afraid because you are an immortal soul, and so on--- have been invented by frightened people who's minds are decaying and whose philosophies have no validity. Life has to be discovered from moment to moment, from day to day; it has to be discovered,  it cannot be taken for granted. If you take it for granted that you know life, you are not living. Three meals a day, clothing, shelter, sex, your job, your amusements and your thinking process, is not life. Life is something to be discovered; and you cannot discover it if you have not lost, if you have not put aside the things that you have found. Do experiment with what I am saying. Put aside your philosophies, your religions, your customs, your racial taboos and all the rest of it, for they are not life. It you are caught in those things you will never discover life; and the function of education, surely is to help you to discover life all the time.
A man who says he knows is already dead,
But the man who thinks," I don't know" , who is discovering, finding out, who is not seeking an end, not thinking in terms of arriving or becoming-- such a man is living, and that living is truth.

A World of Well-Being..

When you look at or feel the world today, you may ponder the question, "What would happen if we didn't have our police, our military, laws and codes etc...?"  If all the programming that has been a part of this earth via the people who had decided to "Take Control" was not a part of our thinking this is perhaps how it would be.  FEAR is just "False Evidence Appearing Real" and it has most people in a vice grip. I love how Abraham explains how it would BE if we had NO FEAR and why it would be a place of Well-Being for everyone!!!

No human would ever do anything to harm another if Connected to Source because when you're Connected, you're empowered; you don't feel insecure. And when you don't feel insecure, you don't need to do something to somebody else that you're afraid of, because you're not afraid. You understand that Well-Being is yours.

---Abraham

Genetic Determinism... Another Tragic Error Regarding Causation

Genetic Determinism is another misguided concept that has been created by our externally-oriented scientists and blindly accepted by most of the ignorant public. oh... that sounded a bit harsh didn't it? Well, if the shoe fits... and I include myself, of course, for I was not immune to these logically-sounding ideas either. But, is it TRUE? and is it the only idea out there on the subject? Nobody ever seems to ask that question... and it is not the only idea.

Genetic Determinism is championed by the external-cause oriented scientific community and it says your genes CAUSE the physical effects we see manifested as a human body, or any other living organism with DNA. There are allegedly genes that cause eye color, sexual preferences, certain diseases... and on and on. And if you have any 'bad' genes, you will have the 'bad'  outcomes caused by the genes. You will be a "Victim" of chance DNA combinations and helpless from the results.

There is another idea

That idea is called EpiGenetics and it comes from the Internally-oriented community and says that our genes are REFLECTIVE of the consciousness of the occupier. In other words, your genes are the effects of the arrangement of your mind... mainly the unconscious part. And isn't it interesting that 98% of your mind is unconscious and 98% of DNA is 'junk', or unknown, according to scientists? This is not a coincidence. Reference Bruce Lipton, Dr. Mercola or Wayne Dwyer.

Epigenetics fits much better to our world-view than Genetic Determinism.

Feeling is Causation...

"We all regard feelings far too much as effects, and not sufficiently as causes of the events of the day." (Neville)

We are all in a constant process of creation. Every reaction is a creation and we will reap what we sow. Every habit of thought is telling us what is coming. The present moment does not recede into the past... it is projected forward. If you want to change the future you must begin by interfering with our reactions and change our perceptions in the moment of NOW. You will know whether or not you are going to like your future by how you are feeling right now, in the present. You may be reacting to your thinking or reacting to your environment... but again every reaction is a creation.

Master your reactions and Master your life.

You master your reactions first by being aware of them, without judgement, just noticing. Then, begin to rearrange your mental story so that your reaction is one that will project a future worthy of your occupation. A nightly revision of the days events, before you fall asleep, is a most productive activity. Simply replay the day in your mind and mentally change any part that could be improved the way you would like to see it. Then fall asleep in the feeling of your perfect day!

Movie Pics: The Man From Earth...

Jerome Bixbee's last Sci-Fi novel. He wanted to make a Science fiction movie that was all about ideas and NO special effects... just brilliant minds tossing around fascinating ideas about time. Highly Recommended!
