I Am Not There...

Disabled Vet Finds Yoga...

The power of yoga on the Body/Mind system should never be underestimated. I employed a lot of yoga instructors in my past occupation and when I was freed from it, I actually had time to start exploring yoga regularly. 

The first instructor that I started working, was a tiny, Vietnamese woman who was like a liquid human, physically, and her story fits well as additional evidence for the following inspirational video. Before she was a Yoga instructor, she was an engineer for manufacturing company. She grew up in Vietnam and was intelligent and driven to succeed. 

After years of success in that field, she woke up one day with the doctors telling her she needed both knees replaced. The cartilage was completely deteriorated and according to them, irreparable. Years of poor eating habits and lifestyle had taken their toll on her only 50 year old body. Surgery was the ONLY option according to the doctors. 

She knew better and looked for alternatives, then found Yoga. She did Yoga obbsesively and got to the point where she could do 6 Bikram (the hot yoga) in one day! Her knees are completely healed, without surgery or ANY medical intervention. Her doctors dismissed her recovery and just said they must have misdiagnosed it. HA!!!!! Beliefs... a Product of the Intellect

Isn't it interesting... that even asking the question, 'Isn't it interesting', immediately takes us out of 'what is' and deep into 'mind'... deep into the intellect?

The 2 Contrary States of the Human Soul...

Before you were aware of being you, you were only aware of being aware. It is called "Un-
conditioned Awareness"

Now, you are AWARE of being you. And you are aware of the things around you, which are extensions of that awareness.

Your AWARENESS,  has fallen into division for the purpose of self-definition.

When you say, "I Am_______", you are exploring aspects of  Self-definition. It's like trying new clothes to see how they fit.

Cain and Able are personifications of  the two distinct functions of your own consciousness. They are names for the two contrary states of the human soul and it is told as the story of 2 brothers. Each represents a distinct outlook on the world, possessed by everyone. The first is the limited perception of the senses, and the second is the imaginative view of the world.

Cain, the first view, the first born, is a passive surrenderer to appearances. and an acceptance of life on the basis of the world without. This view inevitably leads to unsatisfied longing or to contentment with disillusion. It is also referred to, in modern culture, as the Left-Brain. This is the intellectual side of the mind which relies on logic and reasoning, and is endlessly measuring

Think Cosmically...

To THINK COSMICALLY one must be able to dissolve that which he sees into that which he knows.

Start doing it then by realizing that this objective universe is NOT  made up of many substances and things.

It is made up entirely of electric waves of motion which simulate many substances and things which you have always accepted as real.

The moment you fully realize that not one thing in Nature is what it seems to be, you are beginning to transcend your senses by your growing ability to dissolve what you see into what you know.

That principle constitutes the difference between the one who senses by outward thinking, to the one who knows through inner cosmic thinking.

It marks the line of demarcation between the physical and the spiritual man. He who has passed that line thinks cosmically. He knows cause while he who senses is only aware of effects which he can never know.

here was the embodiment of love saying to his mother, "Woman, what have I to do with thee?"

You are Jesus, and your mother is your own consciousness. For consciousness is the cause of all, therefore, it is the great father-mother of all phenomena.

You and I are creatures of habit. We get into the habit of accepting as final the evidence of our senses. Wine is needed for the guests and my senses tell me that there is no wine, and I through habit am about to accept this lack as final. When I remember that my consciousness is the one and only reality, therefore if I deny the evidence of my senses and assume the consciousness of having sufficient wine, I have in a sense rebuked my mother or the consciousness which suggested lack

Detachment... Another Form of Deception

This is an important subject to understand in the quest to free the mind. We must endeavor to cultivate the mind as 'witness' as opposed to 'reactor' in order to see clearly how easily we are deceived. Many people like to preach "Detachment", only to unwittingly be creating a new "attachment" called "detachment"... hence, the deception. The words of the Buddha speak the truth... but the opposite of attachment is not detachment as our logical minds would incorrectly conclude. It's a tricky business, and I think Krishnamurti sets us straight with his words below:

"We are the things we possess, we are that to which we are attached. 

 Attachment has no nobility

 Attachment to knowledge is not different from any other gratifying addiction. Attachment is self-absorption, whether at the lowest or at the highest level. 

Attachment is self-deception, it is an escape from the hollowness of the self. The things to which we are attached, property, people, ideas, become all-important, for without the many things which fill its emptiness, the self is not. 

The fear of not being makes for possession; and fear breeds illusion, 

the bondage to conclusions. 

Conclusions, material or ideational, prevent the fruition of intelligence, the freedom in which alone reality can come into being; and without this freedom, cunning is taken for intelligence. The ways of cunning are always complex and destructive. It is this self-protective cunning that makes for attachment; and when attachment causes pain, it is this same cunning that seeks detachment and finds pleasure in 

the pride and vanity of renunciation.

 The understanding of the ways of cunning, the ways of the self, is the beginning of intelligence."

When you react to attachment by becoming "detached" you are attached to something else.

If you observe your own mind, you will see an extraordinary thing that 

 through cultivating detachment, your mind is becoming attached to something else."

When I see a man I thought had outgrown these little concepts, turn back to images and days, months, seasons, and years, and call them holy - when there is no such thing in God's kingdom - I feel like Paul, that my labor has been in vain. 

Every moment of time is holy and wherever you stand is holy. 

It may be a bar, but it is a holy place, because you are there. Others may say it is wrong, but I ask you: who is standing there? God, and wherever God is, is holy ground. This is true of every person in the world, but they do not know it.

Action and Abundance

 We all have been taught our entire lives, and our whole culture is wrapped up in the idea that, "you have to work hard for_____".   That, "________ has to be earned"  Put anything in the blank and you get the idea. There is also a pervasive feeling that we are not worthy and must pay with labor, suffering, money, time etc.

It is all ERROR!

This blog is only concerned with Truth & Error, which has nothing to do with Right or Wrong. The above Abraham quote is Truth and has proven itself in the testing. The only action or effort required is that which unravels the limiting mental ideas and matching your vibration with your defined success.

The simple fact that you exist, makes you worthy of anything and everything you deem worthy of  desiring. And don't forget it. Pay attention to your vibration and 'tune' it towards your lovely outcomes then celebrate your existence while you explore even brighter horizons!

The Voice of Self Righteousness...

Using No Way as Way... Having No Limitation as Limitation

Bruce Lee is one of those extremely rare examples of a human being who reached his physical, mental and spiritual potential. Most people only have passingly heard of him as an actor/martial artist but have no idea how driven he was toward those aforementioned human attributes. PHYSICALLY he trained up to 16 hours a day, and could perform miraculous physical feats, which required intense MENTAL concentration. Spiritually, he pushed philosophy to the boudaries of understanding which is where he realized his famous quote in the title of this post. The accompanying YouTube is worthy of your viewing. It is the documentary we are discussing, Bruce Lee, A Warriors Journey. 

I recall early on in my 'awakening', that I bought my brother-in-law, who was into martial arts, the DVD documentary of his short life, with the full intention that I would borrow it to watch myself. There were many impressive moments throughout and I will highlight a few here:

• Remember the old TV detective show Longstreet, about a blind detective in the early '70's? Well, I guess I've dated myself now! Bruce made a cameo appearance on a few episodes and give some powerful philosophical messages... "Without method, what is there to teach?" "I have found the cause of my ignorance"  "Be like water, my friend".
• His dream was to create a TV show entirely about Eastern Philosophy and that is what birthed one of my favorite shows of all time... "Kung Fu". The producers were nervous about him, being oriental, being the lead, so they chose David Carradine. When asked in an interview about how he felt about that, his answer shows the depth of his maturity.
• His intensive training resulted in a 6 month hospital stay flat on his back where he focused all of his intensity on studying philosophy... particularly, Jiddu Krishnamurti. There is one clip they show of Krishnamurti saying, 

"You must be a light unto yourself! In a world that is in utter darkness" 

I was so entranced by that short clip that I said to myself,   "I don't know who that guy is, but I have to find out more". So I went to the bookstore and his book...

To BE is to be Related...

"Without relationship, there is no existence: 

To be is to be related. 

 Most of us do not seem to realize this; that the world is my relationship with others, whether one or many. My problem is that of relationship. 

What I am... that (is what) I project, and obviously, if I do not understand myself, the whole of relationship is one of confusion in ever-widening circles.

So, relationship becomes of extraordinary importance, not with the so-called mass, the crowd, but in the world of my family and friends, however small that may be, my relationship with my wife, my children, my neighbor.

 In a world of vast organizations, vast mobilizations of people, mass movements, we are afraid to act on a small scale; we are afraid to be little people clearing up our own patch. We say to ourselves, "What can I personally do? I must join a mass movement in order to reform." On the contrary,

real revolution takes place not through mass movements but through the inward revaluation of relationship; 

that alone is real reformation, a radical, continuous revolution. We are afraid to begin on a small scale. Because the problem is so vast, we think we must meet it with large numbers of people, with a great organization, with mass movements. Surely, we must begin to tackle the problem on a small scale, and the small scale is the "me" and the "you." 

When I understand myself, I understand you,

 and out of that understanding comes love. Love is the missing factor; there is a lack of affection, of warmth in relationship; and because we lack that love, that tenderness, that generosity, that mercy in relationship, we escape into mass action which produces further confusion, further misery. You may ask yourself what Blake is talking about, yet this is the language of the Bible. Biblical language evokes rather than describes. It is telling of another world, another Man and another age; for in truth, all of the places in the Bible are aspects of human consciousness.

Have you noticed that everywhere you turn, people are clamoring for trans(trance)formation? Whether it is from the religions of the world, or New Age'y mysticism, people are trans(trance)fixed on becoming something better than they currently see themselves as being now. 

People are mentally bamboozled into believing that something, greater than them, is going to save them whether it is Science, Jesus, Allah, medicine or benevolent aliens from another, "better" world. And this feeds into the idea of evol(Evil)ution  which claims that we (human beings) are just a cosmic accident of mutated desperation facilitated for survival... And for absolutely NO apparent reason! REALLY?

Yet, people want to Evolve. they seem to love the idea of becoming something greater and I am suggesting that this is only possible because they are conditioned NOT to see their own greatness. 

The bible talks of "Grasshoppers in a land of giants" (Numbers 13:33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.)  We make ourselves feel small compared to the seemingly great and self-created Giants of government, business, religions, medical, entertainment and education. 

The Information-brokers, the, "Expert-Class", of the world assert their dominance over the less informed and their power seems absolute to the ignorant. But these knowledge-brokers stand in the nakedness of their own ignorance to the truth of the oneness and brotherhood of humanity. Time for both to grow up.
