One Creative Moment

"There is a moment in each day that Satan cannot find nor can his watch fiends find it; but the industrious find this moment and multiply it... And when it once is found, it renovates every moment of the day if rightly placed."
(William Blake)

Whenever we imagine things as they ought to be, rather than as they seem to be... that is
"The Moment" Blake is referring to and the moment that will be illuminated in this writing. For in that moment the spiritual man's work is done and all the great events of time start forth to mould a world in harmony with that moment's altered pattern.

Satan, Blake writes, is a "reactor". He never acts, he only reacts. And if our attitude to the happenings of the day is  "reactionary", are we not playing Satan's part? Man is only "reacting" when in his natural or Satan state... he never acts or creates, he only reacts or re-creates.

One real creative moment... one real feeling of the wish full-filled... is worth more than the whole natural life of your reaction to facts. In such a moment you could say, "God's work is done".Once more we may say with Blake:

"God only acts and Is, in existing beings or men."

There is an imaginal past and an imaginal future. When you are reacting, the past is re-created into the present. When you act out your dreams of fancy, with your Imagination, you bring the future into the present.

"I feel NOW the future in the instant."

The spiritual man acts: for him, anything that he wants to do, he can do and do immediately in his imagination, and his motto is always, "The Moment is Now".

Mental Diets...

Dare You to Read This Every Night Before You Go to Bed and See What Happens!

Neville Goddard  1955

MENTAL DIETS

Talking to oneself is a habit everyone indulges in. We could no more stop talking to ourselves than we could stop eating and drinking. All that we can do is control the nature and the direction of our inner conversations. Most of us are totally unaware of the fact that our inner conversations are the causes of the circumstance of our life.

We are told that "as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he." But do we know that man's thinking
follows the tracks laid down in his own inner conversations? To turn the tracks to which he is tied in the direction in which he wants to go, he must put off his former conversation, which is called in the Bible the Old Man, and be renewed in the spirit of his mind. Speech is the image of mind; therefore, to change his mind, he must first change his speech. By 'speech' is meant those mental conversations we carry on with ourselves.

The world is a magic circle of infinite possible mental transformations. For there are an infinite number of possible mental conversations.

When man discovers the creative power of inner talking, he will realize his function and his mission in life. Then he can act to a purpose. Without such knowledge, he acts unconsciously. Everything is a manifestation of the mental conversations which go on in us without our being aware of them. But as civilized beings, we must become aware of them and act with a purpose.

A man's mental conversations attracts his life. As long as there is no change in his inner talking, the personal history of the man remains the same. To attempt to change the world before we change our inner talking is to struggle against the very nature of things. Man can go round and round in the same circle of disappointments and misfortunes, not seeing them as caused by his own negative inner talking, but as caused by others... Read More:

What You Can Plan is Too Small for You to Live

Power Through Experience...

“a veritable San Andreas Fault in the American psyche: the personality’s wish to have power over experience, to control all events and consequences, and the soul’s wish to have power through experience, no matter what that may be.”

Whyte, David. The Heart Aroused: Poetry and the Preservation of the Soul in Corporate America. New York: Doubleday, 1994. 1-30.

"What would our days be like if we came out of hiding and brought our fears, loves, and dreams directly into the workplace?

In The Heart Aroused, poet David Whyte shows that the best way to respond to the current call for creativity in organizational life is to overcome our habitual fear and reticence and bring our full passionate, creative human souls, with all their urgencies and unnamed longings, right inside the office with us. When Whyte, who often consults for corporate clients, walks into an organization, it is not just to advise, strategize, and make recommendations. Instead, he clarifies our personal--not organizational--difficulties at work by placing them in the age-old context of poetry and story. To follow Whyte through his brilliant, soulful discussion is to raft the turbulent stream of conflicting currents that make up our lives in American organizations.

Whyte uses poetry to bring to life the experience of change itself. When he retells the story of Beowulf, he shows us how to face the nightmares that intrude into even the most organized workplace, nightmares we face in the demands, conversations, and relationships that make up our work life. He shows how to say what we mean and stand by it, even in the face of hostile authority--based on how poets William Blake, Rainer Maria Rilke, and T. S. Eliot lived their beliefs--in the simplest of words. He reveals how power must be built on vulnerability, how innocence cannot be sacrificed to experience, how creativity is the art of wedding simplicity and clarity with chaos.

Now available in paperback with an all new user's guide, The Heart Aroused shows how to use the language of prophecy, poetry, and enlightenment to give voice and strength to our most creative but most hidden desires.

Born in England, David Whyte is one of the few poets to have taken his perspectives on creativity into the field of organizational development, where he works with many American and international companies. He has published several audio collections and three books of poetry.

SOUL

But what is soul, and what is meant by the preservation of the soul? By definition, soul evades the cage of definition. It is the indefinable essence of a person's spirit and being. It can never be touched and yet the merest hint of its absence causes immediate distress. In a work situation, its lack can be sensed intuitively, though a person may, at the same moment, be powerless to know what has caused the loss. It may be the transfer of a well-loved colleague to another department, a change of rooms to a less appealing office, or, more seriously, the inner intuitions of a path not taken. Though the Oxford English Dictionary's lofty attempt at soul is the principle of life in man or animals, depth-psychologist James Hillman describes it in far more eloquent terms in his provocative book of selected writings, A Blue Fire:

To understand soul we cannot turn to science for a description. Its meaning is best given by its context...words long associated with the soul amplify it further: mind, spirit, heart, life, warmth, humanness, personality, individuality, intentionality, essence, innermost purpose, emotion, quality, virtue, morality, sin, wisdom, death, God. A soul is said to be "troubled," "old," "disembodied," "immortal," "lost," "innocent," "inspired." Eyes are said to be "soulless" by showing no mercy. The soul has been imaged as...given by God and thus divine, as conscience, as a multiplicity and as a unity in diversity, as a harmony, as a fluid, as fire, as dynamic energy, and so on...the search for the soul leads always into the "depths."

The above quote is very revealing and explains a lot about the 'Why are we here?' question. It is easy to see the truth of this quote in all aspects of life, modern or ancient. This, again, outlines the prodigal purpose of life. Read our earlier post on

The Prodigal Son

Our personality/intellect/thinking-mind loves the idea of controlling everything but the overriding and overpowering desire of the soul always seems to get its way. We may think we want something but the soul wants the greater power, through experience, that may have nothing to do with what we think. Ever notice that in your life?

What Happens when the Industry of Entertainment Takes Over...

These words from Krishnamurti were prophetically written over 60 years ago:

"When you have been brought up from childhood to amuse yourself and escape from yourself through entertainment, religious or otherwise, and when most of the psychologists say that you must express everything you feel and that any form of holding back or restraint is detrimental, leading to  various forms of neuroticism, you naturally enter more and more into the world of sport, amusement and entertainment...

all helping you to escape from yourself, from what you actually are.

When the industry of entertainment takes over, as it is gradually doing now, when the young people, the students, the children, are constantly instigated to pleasure, to fancy, to romantic sensuality, the words restraint and austerity are pushed away, never even given a thought.

I am not talking about the austerity of the monks, the sannyasis, who deny the world, who clothe their bodies with some kind of uniform or just a cloth—this denial of the material world is surely not austerity.

You probably won’t even listen to this, to what the implications of austerity are.  The understanding of the nature of what you are, without any distortions, without any bias, without any reactions
to what you discover you are, is the beginning of austerity."  - Krishnamurti, Krishnamurti to Himself, pp 47-48

Meditation... The Gateway to the YOUniverse

Here, Neville elucidates the true purpose of meditation. Meditation is traditionally taught as a way to "Quiet" the mind thus driving out thought, and the resulting experience can be nice. But of what use it this quietness and emptiness? Krishnamurti describes most meditation as putting a mis-behaving child (aka the intellect) in the corner for a "time-out". But as soon as the meditation is over, the mind is right back to its mischief. Now, the mental discipline acquired in taming an out-of-control mind is certainly useful for relief, AND it is EXCELLENT preparation for Man's ultimate endeavor... creating as a God. The Awakening of the Imagination reveals the usefulness of meditation in preparing the mind to create visions of the infinite and giving them human parentage.

Neville Goddard
(July 1951)
Many people tell me they cannot meditate. This seems to me a bit like saying they cannot play the piano after one attempt. Meditation, as in every art or expression, requires constant practice for perfect results. A truly great pianist, for instance, would feel he could not play his best if he missed one day of practice. If he missed a week or a month of practice he would know that even his most uninitiated audience would recognize his defects. So it is with meditation....

Become Love...

To know something spiritually, you must Become it.

To know something intellectually, man uses his mind to break it down into its parts, observe its
relationships and behaviors, collect information, analyse and relate the data to all previous collected data. Thinking is VERY limited because thought is all built upon the past. Thought can have an idea about something, like 'chocolate', for instance... but until you actually taste it, you really do not know what it is like. Thought cannot come upon anything that is new... just different and usually more complex arrangements of what it has already thought about.

Thought can never Know Love...
it can only think about it.

So, to know love we must become it, which is the greatest of mankind's endeavors.

Ah yes... and then there is Valentines Day. In contrast to Man's pinnacle of knowledge (knowing Love), Valentines Day seems a bit childish and silly. But we learn we can love the silliness and embrace the childishness when we grow up our spiritual selves and put away the relationships and so-called love, that is based upon self-gratification.

 Here, Krishnamurti explains it well:

"The process of thought ever denies love. It is thought that has emotional complications, not love. Thought is the greatest hindrance to love. Thought creates a division between what is and 'what should be', and on this division morality is based; but neither the moral nor the immoral know love. This moral structure, created by the mind to hold social relationships together, is not love, but a hardening process like that of cement. Thought does not lead to love, thought does not cultivate love, for love cannot be cultivated as a plant in the garden. The very desire to cultivate love is the action of thought. If you are at all aware, you will see what an important part thought plays in your life. Thought obviously has its place, but it is in no way related to love. What is related to thought can be understood by thought, but that which is not related to thought cannot be caught by the mind. You will ask, then what is love? Love is a state of being in which thought is not; but the very definition of love is a process of thought, and so it is not love. We have to understand thought itself, and not try to capture love by thought. The denial of thought does not bring about love. There is freedom from thought only when its deep significance is fully understood; and, for this, profound self-knowledge is essential, not vain and superficial assertions. Meditation and not repetition, awareness and not definition, reveal the ways of thought. Without being aware and experiencing the ways of thought, love cannot be."

Life is the Offspring of Love...

"We were born by a natural miracle of love and for a brief space of time our needs were all another's care. In that simple truth lies the secret of life. Except by love, we cannot truly live at all. Our parents in their separate individualities have no power to transmit life. So, back we come to the basic truth that life is the offspring of love. Therefore, no love, no life. Thus, it is rational to say that, "God is Love."

Love is our birthright. Love is the fundamental necessity of our life. "Do not go seeking for that which you are. Those who go seeking for love only make manifest their own lovelessness and the loveless never find love. Only the loving find love and they never have to seek for it."

UFO's, Aliens & Understanding the Architecture of Human Consciousness

UFO's and Aliens are the modern icons of the mysterious and the fantastic. I don't know about you, but I have always wanted to see a UFO. It just seemed so out-of-this-world... and a little scary and unnerving. As an adult I still think it would be neat, as I have not seen one yet... Some interesting lights in the sky here and there, but nothing that would suggest a craft powered by beings from another planet. Whether you believe in them or not, its hard not to listen to the incredible stories of people who encounter them. And it begs the question...

 ...what is REALLY going on?

As consciousness matures and the Imagination begins to awaken, you will find a new context for how these
phenomena fit within the framework of our shared reality. Have you noticed that people who have experienced alien abductions never have any witnesses? Nobody sees them being abducted or being
returned. This seems kind of scary and mysterious but it becomes clear that these are all psychic phenomena, taking place deep in the psyche of the individual, in another dimension of reality. And as such,  they must be part of the collective human psyche because so many people have described very similar experiences and describe similar beings from ancient to modern times. This is a real phenomena, and even though it is not taking place in the physical reality, they are just as important and significant... "As within, so without". Because we live in a "Mind-Created" reality, these phenomena can manifest as "real" to those who are tuned into that mental vibration. They unveil hidden truths that are reflective of consciousness unfolding. Graham Hancock's video down the page will nicely tie together some of these concepts.

It is useful to separate UFO's that may be from another world and those that are terrestrial... or man-made. It is clear that their is man-made technology, that currently exists, that is FAR beyond what the

Consigned Disobedience...

If I commanded you to NOT think of a blue elephant... It is too late because you have already had the thought. You cannot "NOT" something without first identifying it with your thought and thereby including it in your experience.

And so it is with the biblical Ten Commandments...

You may have noticed that each commandment is stated in the negative, "Thou shalt NOT..." Except the one, "Honor thy father and thy mother"

"You can educate a man out of a state (of consciousness), but you cannot prohibit him from occupying it... Every commandment that is negative will be broken, for 'God has consigned all men to disobedience that he may have mercy on all.' The moment I give you a command that is negatively worthy, I have consigned you to disobedience. There is only one commandment which is not negative. That one is "Love thy father and mother." Every commandment has to be broken, yet man thinks he is so holy." (Neville)
Read Neville's entire lecture at http://lifestyleluminaries.blogspot.com/2016/05/scriptural-language.html

Knowing this, is it possible that this consigned disobedience is responsible for the growth and expansion of the universe? For the education  and cultivation of the individual? Is it a list of the things that you will absolutely do, in the fullness of time to complete the prodigal journey? (click to read The Prodigal Son) No judgement... Just the experience of contrast for educative purposes.

The mystical interpretation of "The Ten Commandments" is well presented in Bill Donahue videos which you can access here http://lifestyleluminaries.blogspot.com/p/bill-donahue.html#commandments

A Brief Summary of the Mystical Interpretation of "The Ten Commandments":
  1. "I Am" is the only God. That means you.
  2. Do not give away your power to external things, events or even Gods ie; "graven images"
  3. You will reap what you claim with your "I AM ________" statements

Ode to Terrance McKenna...

Here to share with you an email we received from from Bill Donahue which we feel is poignant for the situation we all find ourselves in. We are not that familiar with Terrance's work, but like what Bill Has Shared with us/you. You can also watch Bill on YouTube on his page listed above,  Bill Donahue

...One of the great minds of the true life invisible realm was
the late Terence McKenna.

Terence said this which I feel really sums up the lunacy that we all tend to follow as if we were drawn magically to the Pied Piper of Washington.

Terence said:

"We have wandered into a state of prolonged neurosis because of the absence
of a direct pipeline to the unconscious, and we have then fallen victim to priestcraft
of every conceivable sort."

Terrence McKenna was not the type of person that the system could ever deal with.

Terence McKenna (1946-2000) was a student and teacher of  the foundations of

The Facts about Facts...

by Tim Che'

Facts always follow... They never precede.

In other words, when one looks at a fact, any fact at all, something came before the fact that made it a fact.

"Things which are seen were not made of things which do appear"(Heb 3:9)

That thing, the thing that all things come from, is consciousness, aka "light"
Lesser known, and more accurately defined as the Imagination

"All things were made by it; and without it was not anything made that was made" (John 1:3)

Here we are establishing causality. You have to decide right here, right now, whether you are a cause, or the effect of a cause. There is no kinda-sorta-maybe about it. To accept yourself as the cause comes with the ultimate responsibility, and goes against EVERYTHING that you have been taught. It opposes the logical, rational mind... and almost EVERYONE will think you are crazy. Stop reading now if you are not open to the possibility that You are the cause.

"Material substance is but the shadow of the Imagination that brought it about."(Neville).

When you look at the world around you, what you see has more to do with the arrangement of your
mind and less to do

Multi-Tasking... Really?

by Tim Che'

We live in a culture that highly values busy-ness (aka business). And multi-tasking is "all the rage" among super-moms and fast-paced executives.

It's like a badge of honor to be juggling endless things... like the clowns in the circus spinning plates or juggling bowling pins.

Todays TV shows are idolizing characters that easily breeze along while answering to an insurmountable amount of decisions in lofty offices of government and business.

I, personally, have never been impressed by such acts of intellectual bravado. And, I have always questioned whether it

is actually possible "multi-task"?

I saw a Myth Busters TV show, that the kids showed me, that disproved the notion, in their Myth-buster ways, which showed more of a 'Rapid Tasking' than multi-tasking... a kind of quickly jumping back and forth with a high-speed (perhaps over- caffeinated) mind.

But when you watch a mother of 5 little ones feeding the baby, while making lunch, and talking on the phone to her office manager... what is really going on?

The Sad Clown

The inspiration for this article came to mind with the recent passing of Robin Williams, a self-professed sad-clown, who possessed the most extreme examples of this type of  mental hyper-drive.

It would be difficult to find an equal of rapid-fire intellect anywhere on earth. The question that came to mind was... did his extraordinary talent and creativity come from the creative right-brain? Or was it rather an extreme expression of a left-brained intellect that was totally out of control?

The intellect can be VERY clever but is limited to thought and therefor only able to rearrange that which already exists. It is not able to create anything new because all thought is based on language which is only of the past. I ask this question because I read the stories of Mr. William's long struggle with emotional issues and deep depression and I have noticed over the years that some people who struggled with negative emotional states seem to have well developed and over-active intellects.

ALL emotions expressed are preceded by the programmed mind in response to the stimulus of thought or the environment. If you cannot control your thinking you will not be able to control your emotional responses. I don't pretend to know what his mental state was or is... I just find it interesting and wonder what true creativity is and where it actually comes from.

Neville says that creation is finished, and that creativity is just a greater receptivity to that which

Spiritual Defense

So... perhaps we are at war. A quiet war with silent weapons and an invisible enemy. Their are casualties that no one sees. And worse, few believe that anything is happening at all. The battle rages. It is called "Armageddon". It is the end times. It is also the end of time.

You see time is the intellectual part of the mind. The part that will lose the battle with the Awakened Imagination... Read "The Battle of Armageddon" https://lifestyleluminaries.blogspot.com/2017/02/the-battle-of-armageddon.html

Here, Neville gives us the best defense during these trying times:

"The best defense against the deceptive assault upon our mental and moral eyesight is the spiritual eye or the Eye of God. In other words, a spiritual ideal that cannot be changed by circumstance, a code of personal honor and integrity in ourselves and good will and love to others.

"Not what thou art, nor what thou hast been, beholdeth God with his merciful eyes, but that thou wouldst be."

Through the veins of the humblest man on earth runs the royal blood of being. Therefore, let us look at man through the eyes of imaginative love which is really seeing with the Eye of God. Under the influence of the Eye of God, the ideal rises up out of the actual, just like water is etherialized by the sun into the imagery cloudland.

The man who really finds himself cannot do otherwise than let himself be guided by love.

Our ability to help others will be in proportion to our ability to control and help ourselves.

The day a man achieves victory over himself, history will discover that to have been a victory over his enemy.

The solitary or captive can, by the intensity of his imagination and feeling, effect myriads so that he can act through many men and speak through many voices. The best way to feel another’s good is to be more intensely aware of it. Ideas do not bless unless they descend from Heaven and take flesh.

What is the Sun?

Of course, we all have been taught by the great scientific community, that the sun is a giant Hydrogen bomb, that is continuously exploding, at the center of our solar system... Right? Well, let's see what someone who actually observed the sun for years has to say about what it is.

Now, I don't know about you, but it really peaks my curiosity to listen to a different point of view on things we take for granted as true. His statement that you can not see the sun from outer space is at first preposterous... and fascinating when you allow your mind to open to other possibilities about what the sun could be... and what the earth is... and who you are!

This video is required viewing for this weeks Casual Conversations on Consciousness titled "The Intellect and the Grid of Containment" https://lifestyleluminaries.blogspot.com/2017/03/the-intellect-and-grid-of-containment.html.
  • Isn't it interesting that the brightest object in our solar system has dark spots?
  • Is the sun really hollow?
  • Is it just an accident that the moon, as viewed from earth, is the exact diameter as the sun as viewed from earth? What are the odds of that?
  • And how does this relate to 'The Grid of Containment'?
  • You can't see the sun from outer space? or stars? What does that imply if it is true?
It is amazing to us how such questions have been eliminated from our culture. I was in the habit of asking young people a simple question, "What do you think the sun is?". The usual response centered around the idea that it was the star at the center of the solar system... one just said "Bright?" I would then say, "I know what you have been taught that it is, but what DO YOU think that it is?" Invariably blank faces and an "I don't know what you mean?" vacuum.

So... What do you think it is?

When someone aked the great poet, William Blake, that question, he answered, "I million angels singing 'Halleluiah, Halleluiah, Halleluiah".  I'm sticking with that definition!
