The Mis-Belief in Loss...

"...and none will be lost, save the son of perdition" John 17:12

Here we will be discussing a most useful interpretation of this passage. This is not the "right" interpretation according to the experts and scholars (scribes and pharisees). Their views come from studying other "experts" views and not from self-revelation. You can decide which is more useful to you. Please read another blog if you find disagreement with this. We are not looking for agreement. We are sharing things that have been revealed. Things that  can utterly transform Man's consciousness and free him from suffering. This passage, contemplated in the light of this understanding, can lead Man out of the bondage of logic, reasoning, time and limiting beliefs. Are you ready? Here it is:

the 'Son of Perdition' is the 'Belief in Loss'

So, in the end, the end of our long journey here in this world, the only thing that will be lost... is the belief in loss. 

I hope you get just how powerful this is. Nothing can be lost when you can see the eternal nature of all things, and yourself as their eternal source. But what does this look like? How do I integrate it in my life and my view of the world?

"Do you cry at funerals?"

 Years ago, I was walking through the house and one of the kids had left a television on. I had not watched a TV for years at that time, and right as I was passing, I saw Larry King sitting with the Dali Lama, which stopped me dead in my tracks. Talk about the universe trying to tell me something! What are the odds?... Anyway, I turned up the volume to hear Larry ask:

"so, do you cry at funerals?"

The Dali Lama just smiled and paused... then replied,

Reflections on the Word "Please"...

All righty then... I had an 'a ha!' moment regarding the word "please". And it will require some 'background context for it to make sense to the reader, so 'please' (LOL), bear with me! It is important to know that there are many detrimental, yet seeming harmless, words, that most people are in the habit of using every day. Words such as; Must, Have-to, Always, Never, Should, etc... rattle off our tongues while we are oblivious to the detrimental state of mind that they bare witness to. So to understand words is of utmost importance.


Literacy is Slavery for those who do not fully understand the root of words, the vibration of words and the unconscious meaning behind them.

"By your words you will be justified and by your words you will be condemned".

Words make fools of those who use them lightly. (Reference John Taylor Gatto). What do you think George Orwell was referring to with his term 'New-speak'? What have words become in our society? We are buried under endless mountains of words and

The Intellect and the Grid of Containment...

It has been said that the earth is a prison planet and that an invisible grid is in place which serves a dual purpose of keeping us inside and quarantining us from the rest of the universe because we are so dangerous and underdeveloped... that we, as a race have not earned our release and probably never will. Also, allegedly, It keeps us free from outside interference.

You have heard of "The World-Wide Web" which has most of the world entangled in it.

And, perhaps, you have heard that the Illuminati, the elite, have symbolized  their plan and their triumph of control with a huge, creepy, spider sculpture in Rockefeller Center, NYC and in London.

I am quite sure that the Illuminati would love to take credit for creating this web of containment and it is certainly within their free will to use it to their advantage... but I postulate another possibility altogether:

"Consciousness is caught in the Web of the intellect...

The finite and restrictive grid of ideas such as latitude and longitude, Logic and reasoning, science and mathematics"

Let's go out on the ledge together... I am writing from the intellect to your intellect. It's really all we have to work with because it is all that we have developed in modern society. The intellect is useful... but is a double-edged sword. It can save man from his emotions, but can also isolate and imprison him in its ideas.

The intellect is externally focused and sense-dependent. It re-arranges the external world and is limited to what already exists because it is built on thought and thought is always old... of the past. Thought is built on language, and it is impossible to have a NEW thought. Your thinking mind may be offended by this realization, but if it does the analysis, it will come to the same conclusion...

Cleverness is not Imagination.

 Our modern society cultivates the intellect and suppresses the imagination. When I speak of Imagination, I am not saying that the intellect is not clever... just go to the movies! But that cleverness is limited (as with all thought and thinking) to rearrangements of what already exists. It only looks new and is usually very inventive.

A child of Earth? And a time to grow up...

We recently had the opportunity to join a spiritual gathering in the Embudu Caves in northern New Mexico. We had no idea what to expect, and meditating in a cave always sounds good to us, so off we went. There was exactly 12 who showed up, 10 women, 1 man(me, as usual), and a young boy. After a very slow drive down a narrow dirt road along the Rio Grande river, we all met together and walked up to the cave and entered. I was not prepared for what I witnessed.

We walked into a cave of.... Light! Smooth, shaped walls guided us to a larger chamber that reached up to an opening that allowed the light to stream in and fill the cavern. There were several levels and randomly placed cut-outs in the walls for sitting and meditating. It is stunning, warm and inviting womb-space to get grounded or go galactic. This video is about the man who created the cave we were in, but shows some of his more advanced work. We did get a chance to walk into the home shown in the video and that really blew us away! An award nominated short documentary was created about his life and work... you can Google search for that:

This post is not so much about the caves or the beautiful, spiritual ceremony that Karen led us through. It is about the revelation that came as a result of blind, meditative, journaling that percolated something to the surface for me that had been nagging at me from within, yet unsure of its identity and its expression....

Needy Relationships Breed Conflict...

In a culture that has developed into a 'Needs-Based' society, this quote from J Krishnamurti points out the absurdity:

"...Relationship based on mutual need brings only conflict. However interdependent we are on each other, we are using each other for a purpose, for an end. With an end in view, relationship is not. You may use me and I may use you. In this usage, we lose contact. A society based on mutual usage is the foundation of violence. When we use another, we have only the picture of the end to be gained. The end, the gain, prevents relationship, communion. In the usage of another, however gratifying and comforting it may be, there is always fear. To avoid this fear, we must possess. From this possession there arises envy, suspicion, and constant conflict. Such a relationship can never bring about happiness. A society whose structure is based on mere need, whether physiological or psychological, must breed conflict, confusion, and misery. Society is the projection of yourself in relation with another, in which the need and the use are predominant. When you use another for your need, physically or psychologically, in actuality there is no relationship at all; you really have no contact with the other, no communion with the other. How can you have communion with the other when the other is used as a piece of furniture, for

your convenience and comfort? So, it is essential to understand the significance of relationship in daily life." - Krishnamurti, The Book of Life

To Live With Effort is Evil...

What do Bruce Lee, Abraham-Hicks and J. Krisnamurti have in common?

Here, J, Krishnamurti sets us all straight and dismantles our illusions around Effort. The Abraham-Hicks video, at the bottom of the article, is all about the law of attraction as it relates to MONEY, and the only, so called, ACTION that is needed is an internal, imaginative alignment which leads one to ALLOWANCE... the action of rest. We think this quote and the video go well together.

"As I was saying, if we do not understand the nature of effort, all action is limiting. Effort creates its own frontiers, its own objectives, its own limitations. Effort has the time-binding quality. You say, 'I must meditate, I must make an effort to control my mind'. 

 That very effort to control puts a limit on your mind. 

Do watch this, do think it out with me. To live with effort is evil; to me it is an abomination, if I may use a strong word. And if you observe, you will realize that from childhood on we are conditioned to make an effort. In our so-called education, in all the work we do, we struggle to improve ourselves, to become something. Everything we undertake is based on effort; and the more effort we make, the duller the mind becomes.Where there is effort, there is an objective; where there is effort, there is a limitation on attention and on action. To do good in the wrong direction is to do evil. Do you understand? For centuries we have done 'good' in the wrong direction by assuming that we must be this, we must not be that, and so on, which only creates further conflict."

The Battle of Armageddon...

The Conflict Between the Intellect and the Awakened Imagination.

The book of Revelation is not about the end of the world. It is about the end of a state of consciousness.

It is a colorful description of the end of the era dominated by the intellectual, sense oriented man...  The birth of the Imagination in Man... And the conflict between these 2 great armies.

That conflict is called Armageddon.

In the beginning it is said the Man (Adam) fell... into a profound sleep... and nowhere in the bible does it say he woke up. That awakening is recorded in the New Testament, which is the description of the birth of the Imagination and its expression as allegorical picture-lessons.

In Man's sojourn here on "Earth", he must first enter "The Red Sea" of emotions. This emotional man looks at the world and reacts with emotion. He does not yet realize that his reactions are creations of future events. These are the "Dark Ages" where emotional-man suffers in his ignorance. Until the Intellect begins to develop.

Man then enters "The Land of Egypt"... the Adolescence of consciousness. The intellect that develops out of the emotional Man seeks its foundation in the factually oriented and relates everything to his 5 senses, ie; "I'll believe it if I can see it". Man at this level sees problems as a challenge to the mind, and learns to first understand the problem in order formulate a solution. The problems are seen as external and the mind looks for external causes and external solutions.

Out of the intellect, glimmers of truth begin to crystallize. Causation becomes less clear and confusing. Physicists are well known for the paradoxes and head-scratching conundrums surrounding their theories. They begin to see evidence

You Can Choose Love...

You can choose to be right... 
or you can choose to be in love.

The voice of self-righteousness is the

only voice you will hear in hell. 

If you think you are right and you hear righteousness coming out of your mouth, then you know who you are and you know where you are standing.

And justifying your righteousness is just more hell. 

It may be challenging to fully grasp this concept, so lets start with a simple question:

Have you ever met anyone who thought they were wrong? 

Of course not! Everyone has come to conclusions based on ALL their life's experience. If I could possibly know all the things that someone had experienced... all their beliefs, all their education, all their exposure to other's opinions, everything they've read, all the TV they've watched, etc, etc...for their entire life, which led them to their conclusion... I would see how they think they ARE right! The fact that you and I can have radically different conclusions about the same subject is, well... sort of crazy! We both could be looking at a glass on the table and have such different opinions about it that it comes to violence. This is the force and the lunacy behind all

Is Thinking the Only Way to Use the Mind?

"We are what we think. 
All that we are arises with our thoughts. 
With our thoughts, we make the world."
(Allegedly the Buddha)

This quote is generally accepted as a "truth", as it is presented, in the 'New age' movement and it is particularly appealing to the intellectual part of the mind. You know... the part that likes to "think".  Most likely this quote was translated by a thinking mind as it made sense to the thinker.

It is interesting to observe that the Buddha, and Buddhist teachings, clearly advocates, and are associated with, the meditative state of "no thinking". Yet, here he is said to claim that thinking is what we are!? And that "ALL that we are arises with our thoughts". And "with our thoughts we make the world".

Hmmmm... so let me get this straight: Thinking creates my world and it is what I am. Basically it’s everything!  But, we are to go through extraordinary measures and disciplines, for maybe 20 or more years, to learn to,  NOT THINK?

Huh?

I am guessing that the "thinking" minds really love this Buddha translation:
" Look! See how great thinking is!"
 But is this quote true and is it what the Buddha really said and meant? There is clearly a conflict with this quote’s interpretation and the teachings, so let us explore it.

Images in the Mind...

Thinking is a tool. 

Yet, it is a lesser tool than the gift of the Imagination.

You can Imagine something.
That is a creative action.

You can think about what you Imagined and that is a re-action.

Thinking is always in response to something. Either from the "outside" world, or often in response to itself.

As a tool, thinking can enhance or be useful to a creative act of Imagination.

Losing control of the thinking tool can be very destructive.
Proceed with caution! Be patiently aware and assert your mastery of the tools of your mind.

Love is Not Emotion...

"Obviously love is not sentiment. To be sentimental, to be emotional, is not love, because
sentimentality and emotion are mere sensations. A religious person who weeps about Jesus or Krishna, about his guru and somebody else is merely sentimental, emotional. He is indulging in sensation, which is a process of thought, and thought is not love. Thought is the result of sensation, so the person who is sentimental, who is emotional, cannot possibly know love. Again, aren’t we emotional and sentimental? Sentimentality, emotionalism, is merely a form of self-expansion. To be full of emotion is obviously not love, because a sentimental person can be cruel when his sentiments are not responded to, when his feelings have no outlet. An emotional person can be stirred to hatred, to war, to butchery. A man who is sentimental, full of tears for his religion, surely, has no love."          - Krishnamurti, The First and Last Freedom, pp 232-233

Is Money Really the Root of all Evil?

The following is an exerpt from Ayan Rand's novel,  'Atlas Shrugged". This
monologue is in response to a  character in the book who makes a disparaging remark directed at the speaker, claiming that he is the product of money and that money is the root of all evil. His response is very in-depth and will really make you question all our programming about money. It is a very idealistic viewpoint and it would appear that modern culture has drifted far away from that ideal. The movie is fascinating and the novel is even more controversial today than it was back in 1957. We like this quote because it makes us think and even if we are not quite sure what we think about parts of it... we enjoy the exercise!

“So you think that money is the root of all evil?” said Francisco d’Anconia. “Have you ever asked what is the root of money? Money is a tool of exchange, which can’t exist unless there are goods produced and men able to produce them. Money is the material shape of the principle that men who wish to deal with one another must deal by trade and give value for value. Money is not the tool of the moochers, who claim your product by tears, or of the looters, who take it from you by force. Money is made possible only by the men who produce. Is this what you consider evil? 

The Prodigal Son... a Mystical Revelation

 Here, we will be discussing the biblical story of The Prodigal Son from the perspective of the mystic. And from that perspective the story is a true revelation. Keep in mind that the bible can be read on many different levels and what is interpreted comes at the level of consciousness of the reader or the interpreter.. 

The religious contemporaries see the story as  "A story of forgiveness, redemption, and the unfailing, never-ending love of the Father who waits for each of us to come home."...Which is nice. 

Sometimes the 'father' is seen as a physical father waiting for his long lost son, and sometimes the 'father' is seen as God waiting for you (the son) to come to your senses and return. But the story falls apart when the wayward son returns and gets the robe, the ring, the fatted calf and the party! The faithful son who stayed behind by God's (or the father's) side seems to have

Feed Your Satisfaction... Not Your Hunger

"You may feed your hunger by thinking of your desire, or feed its satisfaction by thinking from its fulfillment." (Neville)

...A critical distinction in the use of your mind towards creative ends. It is important to remember that

thoughts do not create things. 

Thoughts come in patterns from the channel you are tuned into unconsciously. To change to a more desirable channel, one must tune the mind to it by 'Thinking FROM the fulfillment of desire'. That means imagining the FEELING of already having what you now desire. Practice the feeling until it feels natural and normal. You may even lose the feeling of desire for it. The worst case scenario is that nothing will change but you will have the joy of feeling better while you practice. And if you practice, for as little as 17 seconds a day, you WILL see results!
